On 20th May 2017 W Bro Richard Campbell supported by the brethren of ML 994 and members of the Campbell Family organised a fundraising event for "Care for Cancer". Promoted as "Cycle and walk for Mo" over 160 people took part and together raised the magnificent sum of £10,500.00. This was achieved by a sponsored 30 mile cycle run through the Sperrins taking in Gortin, Plumbridge, Newtownstewart and Baronscourt, a trip undertaken by some 46 riders, a shorter fun run of 6 miles around Gortin supported by over 40 cyclists and a 3 mile walk in Beltrim Estate, Gortin which attracted 70 people - many with dogs. The photograph shows the cheque being presented to "Care for Cancer" at its headquarters in Omagh. The family of the late Maurice [Mo] Campbell would like to thank everyone who supported "Cycle and Walk for Mo", especially Gortin Masonic Lodge No 994 for hosting the event, CBS Graphics Omagh, Hamilton's Spar, Newtownstewart, Pinkerton's Day Today, Plumbridge, EJM McKeown's Building Suppliers, Gortin, Mountjoy Allsorts Cycling Club and the PSNI.
